The Game’s on! The best places to watch sports in lively bars throughout the city.

Portland is known for its hipster anti-mainstream vibe, but we love sports just like any other town. Around here we love our very own Timbers and Blazers, but are right on the dividing line between Seahawks and Niners fans. Portlanders tend to follow the Giants in Major League Baseball, because there’s often a chance to actually see the playoffs. In the NHL, I don’t know, Sharks? Is that an NHL team? Really? Huh. In my research I’ve found there’s a strong tie between Portland and the Chicago Blackhawks, largely because they started here and we share their logo. I’ve given the top two for each sport, but most places (particularly On Deck and The Independent) are really nice catch-all sports bars near where most of the hotels and other visitor’s amenities are.
